NCI Awards 5AM Basic Ordering Agreement
Five-Year Funding Task Order to Provide IT Development & Support Services for caBIG®
Reston, VA, December 18, 2009 — 5AM Solutions today announced that it has been designated as a prime award winner of a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) by the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT). Under the agreement, 5AM will respond to task orders over the next five years issued by SAIC-Frederick, the NCI’s General Contractor, which represent the full suite of Information Technology needs for advancing the NCI’s cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG®). The purpose of the BOA is to directly support the delivery of infrastructure and software applications enabling 21st century bio-medicine. The mission of caBIG® is to develop a collaborative information network that accelerates the discovery of new approaches for the detection, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer, ultimately improving patient outcomes1.
5AM assembled ten partners from the small business, university and non-profit sectors: Capability Plus Solutions (CPS), Capcress, LabKey Software, Lantern Three, Moxie Informatics, the National Coalition for Health Integration (NCHI), Northwestern University, Stelligent, the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), and the UCLA Computer Technologies Research Group (CTRL). 5AM, a licensed caBIG® support service provider, has been serving caBIG® directly since 2006, and its partners have been contributors and consumers since its inception.
