Test to Best - Evidence for Collaboration and Science Driven IT as Criteria for Personalized Medicine
Abstract: The Ivy Genomics-Based Medicine (Ivy G.B.M.) Project is a collaboration among nine U.S. institutions, testing whether genomic characteristics in individual brain tumors can inform optimal treatment options for individual patients. The project challenges not only many of the traditional boundaries of IT but also the business support processes, the accelerated throughput of collaborative science, the privacy of competing pharmaceutical compounds, and the dynamism of consortia practices.

caGrid Services Without a Relational Data Store:
Google App Engine (2009 Poster)
Abstract: This project explored the feasibility of deploying caBIG®-
compatible services on the Google App Engine (AE). The existing
COPPA / NCI Enterprise Services (NES), developed for the CTRP
program, were modified to run on the Google cloud
infrastructure. As the initial authors of the COPPA services, we
were intimately familiar with their design, operation, and current
deployment at NCI.
